Starkville: Not Just For College Students

January 7, 2020

Starkville may be known as Mississippi’s college town, but it’s the perfect place for a family-friendly weekend too. In fact, if you want a weekend getaway with your younger kiddos, Starkville should be your choice! Start off your day by visiting one of the many gorgeous parks that we have to offer. George Evans park and J.L King Senior Memorial Park offer playground equipment, basketball courts, and walking trails. Then, you could visit Starkville’s large public library for one of their children’s programs or to just read a book together. For lunch, pizza is always a good option! Visit Stromboli’s or the Lost Pizza Company for some kid-friendly, but still delicious, food; you’ll be glad you did. Then, take your child to Doodlebugs - A Southern Style Children's Store and buy them the most adorable outfit and go to one of Mississippi State’s fun sporting events. With basketball season in full swing and baseball season quickly approaching, you and your kids will have an awesome time yelling “hail state!” These aren’t the only options for a winning weekend with your kids in Starkville, but they’re a start. Come check out our beautiful city, you’re guaranteed to have a good time!
