Summer in Starkville

Is your student planning on staying in Starkville this summer? Whether they want to catch up/get ahead on hours in school by taking summer intersession courses or just wanting to stay in town, a great way for them to occupy their spare time here in Starkville is with an internship or job. Internships look GREAT on resumes, and now almost every job you apply for requires you to have some sort of work experience. Similarly, having a job is a great way to gain experience and earn some extra money, and will even go well on a resume. 

     Here are some options for your student to consider if they will be in Starkville this summer:

 

Internships

 

Unpaid Campaign Intern: Class Credit:The Tate Reeves for Governor Campaign is launching an Internship program, and if you successfully complete the program, the intern will receive a letter of recommendation and three credit hours!

 

Paid Sales Internship: Southern Seam, LLC in Starkville is looking for a student with the desire to pursue a post graduate career in the sales industry. Candidates must be well spoken and outgoing! This position would entail branding and positioning Southern Seam on the University campus and the surrounding areas. This is a part-time summer internship. 

 

Management Trainee Intern: Enterprise Holdings in Starkville is looking for someone who wants real-world professional business experience in a team-based environment. Their interns everyday will learn more about sales/marketing, customer service, business management, and administrative skills. Must be a rising senior, have 6 months of sales or customer service or marketing or management experience. This is a paid opportunity!

 

Summer and Fall Internship 2019: neonFROG, Inc. is looking for someone currently majoring in Marketing, PR or General Business to be a Marketing/PR Summer of Fall intern. Interns will assist in PR and marketing endeavors, help expand client profiles, and increase client visibility. Their interns will manage multiple projects at once and understand project priorities. Responsibilities include: social media creation and monitoring, planning of client and agency events and attending networking opportunities. This Internship opportunity is in Columbus, MS.

Jobs

 

• Applebee’s is one restaurant that is actively seeking summer employees. They are currently looking for servers, host/hostess, and a bartender. 

 

• Insomnia Cookies is also seeking summer employees; they are in search for a Campus Marketing Representative. Responsibilities include: portraying a positive image of Insomnia Cookies brand on campus, identify key groups and organizations on campus, build relationships with campus media, and more. This paid position would be part-time and $10 an hour. Insomnia is also in search of delivery drivers who are familiar with Starkville. Must be able to follow proper delivery instructions, be able to work the night shift, accurately process order paperwork and payment transactions, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. 

 

• Caso Bravo Mexican Restaurant is also currently hiring serving positions. You must apply by visiting the business in person. 

 

• Kids ESL Online Instructor: If you are passionate about teaching, then this is the perfect job for you. You will be putting your skills to great use with a diverse group of adults and kid learners around the globe and teaching them English. You chose your own hours, and will earn $12-19/hour. This would look great on a resume!
